Ferns, carnivorous plants, nerve plants, prayer plants, philodendrons, monsteras, alocasias, calatheas, orchids, fiddle leaf figs, anthuriums, air plants, and most other tropical plants. If you have a question about your specific plant variety, it's best to do your research online in terms of what's the best humidity levels for your particular plant.

Do indoor plants need humidifier?

Yes, most indoor plants would benefit from a plant humidifier, especially if you live in warmer climate or in the winter months. Certain plant varieties are very sensitive to humidity levels and having a humidifier will boost their growth, health and you will prevent any crispy edges on your leaves.

Do plants need warm or cool mist humidifier?

Warm mist humidifiers simply boil the water which is then released as warm steam, and they are mostly used for improving indoor air quality. You can achieve the same results by simply using a filtered water. For most plant parents, cool mist humidifier is the best option as it's safe to use around kids or pets, and the humidifiers are considerably more affordable and cheaper to run.

Is misting plants better than using a humidifier?

Plants certainly love a bit of mist on their leaves, but in terms of their health and growth, it's not an ideal long term solution.

Misting plants can leave a film of calcium and minerals on the plant leaves, and water residue can introduce some bacterial growth. If you mist them in bright light, the water droplets can cause burn spots on leaves as they act as a magnifying glass. Misting plants raises the humidity levels for a very short period of time, that's not enough for the plant to get the most benefits of it.

Humidifier works a lot better because it allows you to get the humidity levels around the plants to an optimal level for an extended period of time.

Can a humidifier cause mold?

It's very unlikely that a humidifier would cause mold. It would have to be a large capacity humidifier run continuously in a small room, for a chance of mold to be forming.

What type of humidifier is best for plants?

You can choose by size or capacity, or other details that may be important to you. Small size humidifiers are perfect to put in your plant shelf or plant station and move around as needed. They don't take up too much space and are near invisible between the plants.

The tank capacity is another thing to consider - if you don't want to fill the water tank every day, choose one of the mid-range plant humidifiers with 17 oz (500ml) tank that can run continuously for up to 10 hours.

Some of our humidifiers also come with a remote control, LED lights or option to direct the mist in 360 degree.

Which houseplants need humidity?

All types of ferns, carnivorous plants, nerve plants, prayer plants, philodendrons, monsteras, calatheas, orchids, fiddle leaf figs, anthuriums, air plants, and most other tropical plants love high humidity! For best results, group these types of plants together in one spot and use a plant humidifier to get them the humidity levels they need to look their best and grow into healthy happy plants.
